The Tech Team

The 2007-08 Tech Team consists of eleven members: Brandi Crawford, Derek Wolfe, Steven Mayner, Blake Goodenbour, Alissa Lewis, Charlie Smith, Katie Hoefer, JD Dean, Nicole Cooksley, Max Cherry, and Travis Johnson.

These students are enrolled in an Independent Study Class. Class meets daily or every other day (depending on schedule) throughout the school year. Curriculum includes assisting staff with technology, maintaining computers, maintaining and developing web pages for the District Web Site, utilizing equipment (digital cameras, scanners, etc.), troubleshooting problems, installing new equipment and software, and numerous other tasks. Students who are interested in taking Independent Study are to check with the Technology Coordinator before registering for the class.

Here are some of the services that the Tech Team provides:

Instructional Projects
  • Offer technology assistance for students, teachers, the community
  • Create presentations
  • Produce newsletters and brochures
  • Create school web pages for the school and teachers' classrooms
  • Form buddy partners with lower grades, peers, and staff
  • Take digital images
  • Create databases
  • Provide E-mail training

    Community Service Projects
  • Assist non-profit agencies in technology needs
  • Host open houses with tech demonstrations
  • Make cards, large print personal phone books for senior citizens
  • Create graphics for greeting cards, sweatshirts, notepads, etc.
  • Train parents how to use hardware, software and the Internet
  • Mentor senior citizens in technology use
  • Teach community ed classes
  • Design business cards, brochures, web page for local businesses

    Technical Projects
  • Offer technical support in computer labs, classrooms
  • Clean mouse balls
  • Set up and maintain hardware
  • Check and clean computers
  • Maintain the network
  • Run a help desk
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software
  • Train students to use scanners and other equipment
  • Create mailing labels
  • Salvage parts from inoperable computers
  • Offer free to the public computer repair and check-ups
