Scholastic Reading and Reading Counts Instruction Page for Students.

How to “Log On”.
1-Go to the Apple Menu icon (upper right hand corner of monitor), click and drag down to highlight “Chooser”.

2-Double Click on the “AppleShare” icon.
3-Click on “EBCS_1”.

4-Enter XXXX in the “password box” , press “tab” and enter XXXX in the “name box” and then click “ok”. (Name and password will be supplied by teacher)

5--A screen will appear with options to select. Just click “OK”. Do not place a check in the box.



Locate the SRI or Reading Counts icon in the Applications folder on the desktop or in the Applications folder under the Apple Menu. Then double click on it to launch it. You will be asked to enter your name and password. Your password are your initials (Michael Jordan--mj).

When you are finished, drag the file server icon to the trash to remove it off the desktop.

1--Go Under the Apple Menu and select “Chooser” Enter your name and your SRI password. Click “Connect”

2--Highlight “Schlastic”: and click OK

3--Dbl Click or highlight "Reading Counts," "SRI Student," or "Scholastic Teacher" in the Applications folder on the desktop or under the Apple Menu.


Steps to SRI when the computer does not know its path (for students)
1--Go to Chooser.
2--Click on Appleshare -- Select EBCS - 1 server
3--Type in “••••” for Name & “••••” for password (will be supplied to you)
4--Close boxes
5--Click on SRI Student
6--When "Warning of SMS Data not found" comes up - click ok
7--A Hardrive box will come up - click on Desktop
8--Select and open Scholastic
9--Select and open SMS Data
10-Highlight the "Database'
11-Go to bottom of box and "Select Database"
