Make Some Aliases!
Make an Alias of Frequently Used Applications

1. Double click on your hard drive, go into the Applications folder (or wherever you have the program) and find the program folder for which you are looking.

2. Open the program by double clicking on the folder and find the icon that launches the program. For example, the Inspiration icon that launches the program is called Inspiration.

3. Select the program icon by clicking on it once (if you double click, you will start the program).

4. Go to "File" in the menu bar and select, "Make Alias" or use the keys Apple-M.

5. A copy of the program icon in italics with the word alias at the end will appear. Drag it to the desktop.

6. You can choose to leave it on the desktop and use it from there or you can put it in the Apple Menu (In the Applications Folder)

7. To put it in the Apple Menu, go back to your hard drive.

8. In the hard drive, look for the System Folder folder and open it up.

9. In the System Folder, open the Apple Menu Items folder. This is where we have placed aliases of other programs. You can make folders to organize them or just drop the aliases there. Drag and drop your new alias there (I personally like to get rid of the word alias), close the open windows and test it.
