  • Africa Resources OnLine--Contains information links for most African countries (good for EB 7th graders working on their Web project).

  • Atlapedia--Contains key information on every country of the world. Each country profile provides facts and data on geography, climate, people, religion, language, history and economy.

  • Central Intelligence Agency's World Fact Book--Check out the CIA publications and handbooks for up-to-date information on virtually every country in the world. See where the "hot spots" are.

  • Electronic Embassy--Comprehensive information on embassies in the US as well as US embassies abroad.

  • Countries--Contains useful information on all the countries of the world. (useful for E.B. seventh graders)

  • Country Studies--Contains useful information on all the countries of the world.

  • Geographia--Here is a valuable resource for EB 7th Graders as well as others who need information on various countries of the world. Especially for projects.

  • Greatest Places OnLine--Provides photos, maps, trivia, recipes, audio and video clips and more about some of the great places on the Earth.

  • Latitude and Longitude Online--Here is a neat little tool to find the latitude and longitude of many notable cities and places on Earth.

  • Library of Congress Country Studies--A great starting point for those individual country reports. (Very detailed)

  • National Geography Standards--Standards, lesson plans, maps, etc.

  • Nations of the World--Over 1,500 pages of material about countries, including anthems, flags, and maps.

  • United Nations Resource Center--Provides quality links for current data on countries of the world (cities, pictures, databases, etc). Includes "InfoNation" a useful country comparison tool.

  • World Atlas Maps--Contains a variety of maps, stylized clip art, color reference maps, and blackline master maps. Also includes National profile web pages with an abundance of materials.

  • The World Clock--Find the current local time in cities around the world.

  • World Facts--Easy to use fact sheets for the world's countries.

  • The 50 States, US States and US States--These web pages will help you find out the basic facts of any state in the Union, including Washington, D.C. and some territories.

  • Official US Time--Want to know the precise time of major cities in any area of the United States? Here's the site for you.

  • State and Country Quick Facts--Find data easily on archived records of the Census Bureau collected on the 50 states.

  • Destinations (Excite)--Planning a trip? Visit cities on the Net, view current maps, and find out what sites to see in each city.

  • Fodors--One of the most useful travel sites out there for basic, hard information and factual advice.

  • Lonely Planet --Presents some of the finest printed travel guides on earth, and its invaluable insights are available online as well. You get the lowdown on the customs, culture, currency, climate, and cuisine of just about any destination that comes to mind. Great graphics!!

  • MapQuest--Interactive atlas of the world. Constantly updated!

  • Travelocity--Search the best itinerary and cheapest airfares, use the currency converter or put together an entire vacation package, including lodging, hotels, nightlife, etc.

  • TripSpot--A very useful resource for 7th Grade Dream Vacation Project (Where to go, How to get there, Where to stay, Where to eat, What to do).
