The following Wednesdays were marked as Staff Development Days – NO PRESCHOOL
December 14, January 18, February 8, April 18, May 2
WE WILL HAVE PRESCHOOL ON THESE DAYS IN THE MORNING.
MRS. GIFFORDS CLASS WILL HAVE A 12:45 DISMISSAL (same as the rest of the K-12 students).
MRS. JOHNSON’S CLASS WILL HAVE MORNING CLASS (dismissing the same as
usual – 11:30 am or noon for lunch). THERE WILL BE NO AFTERNOON
CLASS DUE TO THE EARLY DISMISSAL PK-12.
MRS. SNYDER’S 3 YEAR-OLD CLASS WILL RUN AS NORMAL.
March 21 will continue to be a No Preschool day due to PK parent/teacher conferences.

Policies and Procedures
The purpose of Iowa's Statewide Voluntary preschool Program for Four-Year-Old Children is to provide an opportunity for all young children in the state of Iowa to enter school ready to learn by expanding voluntary access for all four year-olds.
The allocation of funds for the statewide Voluntary Preschool Program is intended to improve access to early childhood education and provide a predictable, equitable and sustainable funding method to increase the number of children participating in quality programs.
East Buchanan has developed Preschool Parent Advisory Council that will meet several times throughout the year. The first meeting was held on September 22, 2008. Additional meetings were held that year on November 10, 2008; February 2, 2009; May 4, 2009; and August 10, 2009. From then on, the Preschool Advisory Council has been meeting on a regular basis. Please see current dates and agendas at the top of this page.
East Buchanan has a morning and afternoon session for the preschool program. There are still spaces available for each session. Anyone interested in joining the Preschool Advisory Council or enrolling their child in the preschool program should contact Dan Fox, Superintendent/Elementary Principal or Barbara Sabin, School Improvement Facilitator at 319-935-3767.
