Sponsor An Animal 2005
15 new interpretive signs were recently placed along the trails at Fontana. Each sign has text and an illustration printed directly on an 8"x10" sheet of metal and is attached to a wooden post. The signs help visitors look for and learn more about the wildlife, plants and geology of the area. Our trails are used by 5,000 - 10,000 visitors yearly.
Sponsorship of a sign is $200 which includes one time replacement costs. Those who sponsor a sign will have their name - or business name - printed on a plaque accompanying the sign.
Nature Center Donations
Levels of Support:

There are still animals available in the "sponsor an animal" program at Fontana Park. To sponsor an animal, a group, business, or individual needs to make a minimum donation to the conservation board.
Donation amounts differ for each animal, ranging from $25 to $150. Participants receive an "official" certificate of sponsorship, a photo of their animal, and their name on a plaque on the animal's cage for the 2005 calendar year.
To sponsor an animal, contact the Fontana Interpretive Nature Center at 319-636-2617 or fontanapark@iowatelecom.net for a list of animals still available for sponsorship in the 2005 calendar year.
The Sponsor An Animal Program raises money for the Conservation Board's environmental education program. The money goes toward educational and recreational programs, the newsletter, and animal display.
Trail Sign Sponsors
Donors are an important part of the operation of Fontana Interpretive Nature Center. Nearly all exhibits, exhibit maintenance, and miscellaneous supplies are purchased with donor money. Please consider making a donation at the level of support that works for your budget.
Ask about making a donation as a memorial. Memorials can be recognized on trees, benches, picnic tables, and more.
