History of Paris, France: Paris is more then 2,000 years old. Gauls of the Parisii tribe settled in Paris between 200 and 250 BC and found a village on an island in the river that is the Idle de la Cite today. Paris was taken over by Julius Caesar in 52 BC. Paris still maintains its importance, character, and charm, though its appearance is being transformed by structures.

Location of Paris, France: The absolute location of Paris is 48.86 degrees north and 2.34 degrees east. Paris, France is located on the Seine River. It is in Western Europe.

Interesting Sites To Visit: One interesting place to visit would maybe be Disneyland of Paris. While you were there a fun thing to do would be to go on an adventure with Pinocchio. You would then discover "it is a small world." Another fun thing to do maybe would be to visit Fantsanyland; the most beautiful castle where your dreams await you. When you are eating dinner you could watch "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show." Annie Oakley the queen trigger; the big chief of Sitting Bull and his fighters, are in the show.

Another interesting place to stop would be the Eiffel Tower. There are three floors of the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower was completed 1889, at the time it was the tallest building in the world at 300 meters high. The tower is also a lasting symbol of Paris, France.

Travel Information: To travel in France you must have a passport. You will need the hepatitis B shot, if you are exposed to it because of health-care workers, have sexual contact with the local population, or stay longer than 6 months. It is recommended for all infants and children from ages 11-12 (who did not complete the series as infants).

There is currently an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among animals. In July there was a case reported of Legionnaires' disease. Travelers diarrhea is the number one illness in travelers. Tick borne encephalitis, a viral infection of the central nervous system, is something to beware of if you are going to be traveling in forested areas during the summer months and who drink or eat unpasteurized dairy products. There is no vaccine for this disease in the United States at this time.


Local Hotel to Stay: Buci Latin is a different hotel to stay at. When we say different we mean a cool different. It is cool because they have zebra- upholstered chairs in the lobby. Each door is inspired by the work of a famous artists. These are some of the artist: Magritte, Leger, Monet, or Basquiat. These are a local artists. The rooms are small.
