  • Location: Chichen Itza is a city located in Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula.

  • Absolute Location: Its absolute location is approximately 88 degrees west and 20 degrees north.

  • My Place is Famous for: Its physical characteristics. Its monuments such as the El castilllo.

  • Description: All of the buildings are made of stone. They are very large and magnificent.

  • Interesting Facts: Every structure has a name. They were also made by hand. Chichen Itza's name means "Mouth of the Wells of Itza." It was occupied twice, first by the Mayans and the second was considered to have Toltec influence.
