LOCATION: It extends from 9 degrees-22 degrees North, and 60 degrees-89 degrees West. It is surrounded by Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Central America and South America.

SIZE: It is 1,063,000 sq. miles long.

INTERESTING FACTS:

  • The Caribbean Sea is used as a major shipping route between the U.S. and the Panama Canal.

  • It’s deepest point is more than 6,000 f.t. deep.

  • It is popular resort and tourist area.

  • It is often called the Arm of the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Navigation is very easy on the Caribbean.
