Jane Austen

Born: December 6th, 1775
Death: July 18,1817 by Addisons disease
Parents: Rev. George and Cassandra Austen

Jane Austen was a famous writer in the 1800’s. She wrote 5 famous books they were: Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey, Emma, and Mansfield Park.

She was never married, but many people believe that she was in love with a man named Thomas Lefroy. Supposedly, she was asked to marry but Jane refused, and this secret love life was believed to be the plot of the book Persuasion.

Jane Austen lived in many different places during her life. First she lived in Hampshire, England then moved to Bath . After her Father died Jane and her family moved to South Hampton, but several years after that they moved back to bath.

She was born the seventh child of eight, one of only two sisters. The two sisters kept in touch often, but strangely enough Cassandra destroyed most of the letters they wrote after Jane died.

Although she lived a short life, she had a very pleasant attitude. She was religious and interested in the Arts and Literature. Many say that she was a graceful and beautiful women and had a cheerful, shy, yet self confident personality. Her brothers said that she had a very good memory and she was a very good person to be around.

I chose Jane Austen for my report because her books are very good to read and also I wanted to know what victorian life was like.
