Mount Everest

On this web page you can find some factual, and interesting things that will help you one day if you ever want to climb Mount Everest.

Mount Everest was named after Sir George Everest.

Mount Everest is around 60 million years old.

On Mount Everest you can climb up to 8,848 meters high ( 29,028 feet )!

To help to preserve your food you can bye industrial freezers. These remove heat from the food during freezing. It works wonders!

When we start off on the mountain the atmospheric pressure is 33% at sea level. Therefore there is 66% less oxygen.

Some things that you can do to help you if you get sick on the top of the mountain are:
Give your body time to rest
Make sure at altitude above 3000 meters (10,000 feet), your sleeping elevation should not increase more that 300 meters (1000 feet) per night, and every 2-3 days.
You should spend two nights at the same elevation.
You should avoid: alcohol, sleeping pills and even narcotic pain medicines unless absolutely necessary. These drugs affect your breathing.
Remember to dress warmly in the cold. Don't let your body get to cold.
You need to keep as much energy as possible.
Drink a lot of water
Don't overdue with speed or weight in your pack.

Some of the mountain sicknesses and there symptoms are listed below:

Acute mountain sickness

Symptoms: nausea or vomiting, fatigue or weakness, dizziness or light headness, and difficulty sleeping.


High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE)

Symptoms: change in mental status, and ataxia

High Altitude Pulmonary Edama (HAPE)

Symptoms: dyspnea at the rest, cough, weakness, or decreased excersice performance, chest tightness or congestion, rales or wheezing in at least one lung field, blue lips, increased breathing, and increaded heart rate.

Some of the different cloths you would want to wear on the tour to keep your body warm are: fleece, wool, nylon this is to reduce blisters!

Some of the personal equipment you might want to take along is:
Backpack
sleeping bag
1 thermal rest pad
cooking gear
small personal first aid kit
sunscreen
lip screen
toiletry bag
insect repellent

Most trips on the mountain cost aroung 10,000 dollers.
