THE RED SEA

Location: Between Africa and the Arabian peninsula,bordering Eritrea, Sundan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

Size:
Length 2,250 Km, width 355 Km.

Discovered by:
Ancient Egyptians traders.

Name:
It got it’s name from the soft red coral reefs.

Information:

  • The Red Sea is famous for it’s crystal clear water.

  • Drop-offs can go to 1000 feet deep.

  • Some of the coral reefs can be found nowhere else in the world.

  • The salty Red Sea is the hottest destination in the world.

  • 20 million years ago the Arabian peninsula was torn off of Africa.

  • After that the Red Sea was formed.

  • In 1869 the Red Sea became a route for shipping goods.

  • It was a international trade route for European travelers.

  • People there have magical dances every night for the Sea and it’s coral
    reefs.
