Red Sea
THE RED SEA
Location: Between Africa and the Arabian peninsula,bordering Eritrea, Sundan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.
Size: Length 2,250 Km, width 355 Km.
Discovered by: Ancient Egyptians traders.
Name: It got its name from the soft red coral reefs.
Information:
The Red Sea is famous for its crystal clear water.
Drop-offs can go to 1000 feet deep.
Some of the coral reefs can be found nowhere else in the world.
The salty Red Sea is the hottest destination in the world.
20 million years ago the Arabian peninsula was torn off of Africa.
After that the Red Sea was formed.
In 1869 the Red Sea became a route for shipping goods.
It was a international trade route for European travelers.
People there have magical dances every night for the Sea and its coral
reefs.
