The Amish: “Iowa’s Plain People”
Imagine your home without television, a CD player or a telephone? Imagine your parents trying to go to work if they didn’t have a car? This is what life is like for the Amish, a culture with a long history and unique culture. Our 7th students worked in pairs to gather information about the history of the Amish people, their beliefs and lifestyle. Their findings have been published as a 4 page web site.
The Amish are a people rich in tradition & culture. By observing and learning about their traditions, beliefs & values we have the opportunity to learn more about the cultural variety that exists in the United States.
